DESCRIPTION OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM
The Solar System is in the Milky Way galaxy. It has eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto is not a planet. In the Solar System there is only one star, the Sun. The only planet with life is Earth. Jupiter is the biggest planet. Earth is not the smallest planet in the Solar System.
On Earth there is one satellite “ the Moon “, but on Mars there are 18 satellites. The Moon has large circular craters on the surface. The Moon travels around Earth. Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the Moon.
Comets are objects composed mostly of ice and dust that grow tails when they approach the sun. Asteroids are the small rocky objects in the Solar System.Meteors are the short, white trails across sky that we call "shooting stars."
